The Power Café is now on the road! We have one energy champion available in Folkestone and close by who will be running drop in sessions through to March 2018.
The Power Cafe took place at
45 Foord Rd., Folkestone
16th, 17th, 18th
21st, 23rd and 24th November 2017
(Funded by Lottery Awards for All)
It gave people the opportunity to take advantage of a free energy bill checking service to help to see whether they could save money on their energy bills.
We provided free, unbiased advice and support to help better understanding of energy bills and looked at options for switching provider.
There was free coffee, tea and a light lunch (between 1pm and 2pm) of soup and roll. People who brought their gas and electricity bills were able to have a one-to-one advice session and there were some fantastic results.
One 85yr old local resident had been over-paying her bill for years. Not only did we secure a £800 refund, we halved her monthly bills and still anticipate further savings when we secure the best tariff for her.
The Folkestone Power Café follows on from our energy champion work over the last three years. We've been offering local energy champion support, funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and from National Lottery Awards for All. This year we are funded by NEA, (National Energy Action).
